Hunter Ice Cream – Yum!!
When researching the Hunter Ice Company, we discovered that, along with harvesting ice from Barron Lake, the Hunter Company also made Ice Cream. Their ice cream was made with cream from the Goshen Creamery. Each year, Bonnie Doon Ice Cream in Elkhart IN recreates, as accurately as possible, the ice cream sold by the Hunter Ice and Ice Cream Company from 1900 – 1925. Hunter Ice Festival Photo Contest – Leader Publications
Leader Publications and Niles DDA Main Street are cosponsors of the Hunter Ice Festival Amateur Photo Contest. Prizes for First $100, Second $75 and Third $50. Take pictures during the Ice Festival and submit them to the Leader Publications site, where they will be added to a display and judged. We encourage you to submit sculpture photos, action shots and views of people enjoying the festival. All photos submitted become the property of the Hunter Ice Festival and Niles DDA Main Street and may be used for promotional purposes, so make sure you keep a copy! “Now that it’s really chilly, it’s time to think Chili!” Hunter Ice Festival Chili Cook Off Invitation Calling all cooks!~ You are invited to participate in the 6th Annual Hunter Ice Festival Cook Off “Chili-Crawl”! Each participant will be showcasing their chili inside selected downtown businesses. This event is an opportunity to display your culinary skills and spotlight your business inside a warm store. We are looking for local chefs to prepare 5 gallons of chili. The chili will be sampled and judged by festival participants and local judges.
